It is the coordinator of the EMMA project.

Centro Ricerche Fiat
Centro Ricerche Fiat, Italy

CRF is a FIAT Group company born in 1976. The aim of Centro Ricerche Fiat is to use innovation like a strategic lever into Fiat Group’s business and to get value from the outcomes of its activities through the promotion, development and transfer of innovative contents able to give distinction and competitiveness to the product. By the end of 2005 CRF was involved in 115 projects funded by the EC VI Framework Programme which effectively started at the end of 2002. Of the subject areas, defined by the Commission to be of priority, CRF has focused mainly on the development of new propulsion systems, innovative products and processes, lightweight materials and solutions related to mobility and modes of transport. CRF is partner of EMMA as technology supplier and developer of different types of car sensors.

Conekt
TRW Conekt, United Kingom

Conekt, based in the UK, USA and China, is the external consultancy arm of TRW Automotive, and provides key services in engineering, knowledge and technology across a number of industries including automotive, aerospace, defence, commercial vehicle and off highway. Conekt offers a complete engineering service from concept design and development, prototype and validation testing through to low volume manufacture. Conekt has a long history of involvement in EU funded research projects from , AC-ASSIST, Carsense, current PReVENT projects Saspence and Intersafe and more recently TRACKSS and CityMobil. Conekts role within the EMMA consortium is as a tier 1 supplier and developer of in car sensors and systems.

Universität Stuttgart, IPVSUniversität Stuttgart, IPVS, Germany

The Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems at the Universität Stuttgart focuses on research of high performance parallel and distributed computing as well as ubiquitous computing and wireless sensor networks. The IPVS has participated in a number of EU projects including the currently active AWARE project, which researches the cooperation between aerial flying objects and ground based sensor network infrastructure, and the Embedded WiSeNts project, which is aiming at developing a vision and roadmap towards wireless sensor networks. The development of the EMMA middleware is the main contribution of the IPVS within the EMMA project.

Newcastle University
Newcastle University, United Kingdom
The School of Computing Science at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne has been active in research into techniques for designing dependable information systems for over 30 years. Currently the School hosts a major research group in dependability and the Centre for Software Reliability. There has been extensive experience in EU-funded research, including coordination of the CaberNet network of excellence since its inception and currently the School collaborates with over 70 leading research centres throughout Europe. Two long running significant research actions are: the Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration in Dependability and the BAE SYSTEMS-funded Dependable Computing Systems Centre. The School of Computing Science is a partner in EMMA and its main roles are EMMA evaluation and investigating wireless sensor networks as a platform for EMMA middleware.

ITTI, Poland

ITTI Ltd. is a private consulting company, founded in 1996, which offers its services in a wide area of issues related to practical applications of state-of-the-art Information Society technologies: from technical consultancy, RTD and process engineering, to project management, to accompanying business and legal counselling. Since its foundation, ITTI has been focused on three main domains: telecommunications (especially mobile), IT and economics related to these fields. Since 1998 ITTI has participated in a number of EC-funded projects and initiatives executed within the 5th and 6th Framework Programmes, Leonardo da Vinci, eContent, PASR, Phare, Structural Funds, EQUAL, etc. The most recent examples of the ones in the mobile communications area include e.g.:, integrated 3G/4G service platform ('DAIDALOS', 6FP), supporting innovation of SMEs in the mobile services and applications business ('SIMS', 6FP), mobile worker support environments ('MOSAIC', 'COMIST', 6FP). The main role of ITTI within EMMA is to coordinate the dissemination of the project's results.

ETRI, Republic of Korea

Electronics & Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) is a non-profit government-funded research organization in Korea having the mission to develop core IT technology for the nation and the world. Embedded S/W Research Division (ESRD) in ETRI is developing the core embedded S/W technology that can be used in various information appliances and mobile devices. The embedded S/W technology developed in ETRI includes operating systems, development environments, and some middleware for mobile devices. In EMMA project, ETRI will provide two types of operating systems (Qplus and Nano Qplus) and the corresponding development environments (Esto and nano Esto) for sensor nodes.

Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Germany

The "Sensor Networks and Pervasive Computing" (SNPC) group was founded in 2007 with the change in position of Pedro Marrón, the head of the group, from the University of Stuttgart to the University of Bonn. Scientists at SNPC have worked on research and development projects for government agencies, associations and industry. One example of completed EC projects is the Embedded WiSeNts coordination action whose goal was to find out a vision as well as a roadmap towards wireless sensor networks and cooperating embedded systems. Currently SNPC is participating as a founding member in the AWARE project, also funded by the EC, whose goal is to combine the capabilities of UAVs, robots, cameras and sensor networks to fight the spread of fire in indoor scenarios. SeNPeC also has a bilateral project with Siemens AG for the development of robust self-management concepts for the operational maintenance in wireless sensor network deployments. The main contribution of SeNPeC in the EMMA project is the development of the EMMA middleware.
